Mayo Clinic gratefully acknowledges a generous gift from the Offutt Family Foundation in support of Bold. Forward. Unbound. in Rochester — Mayo Clinic’s forward-looking vision for the future of healthcare.
Through Bold. Forward. Unbound. in Rochester, Mayo Clinic is reimagining the way care is delivered by integrating physical and digital infrastructure and blending inpatient and outpatient experiences in entirely new ways. By 2030, Mayo Clinic will transform its Rochester campus and usher in a new model of continuous, digitally connected, patient-centered care.
“I've seen firsthand how Mayo Clinic transforms lives, not just among those I know personally, but in the stories from around the world,” says Ronald Offutt, founder of the Offutt Family Foundation. “This gift is a tribute to that global legacy of healing and hope.”
Ronald Offutt founded the R.D. Offutt Company in 1964, growing it into the largest producer of potatoes in the United States. He also founded RDO Equipment Company, which has become the world’s largest network of John Deere agricultural and construction equipment dealerships. Recognized by Mayo Clinic as a Philanthropic Partner, the Offutt Family Foundation has previously supported ophthalmology and cancer research.

Bold. Forward. Unbound. is a once-in-three-generations investment across Mayo Clinic to create an entirely new Category-of-One patient experience and deliver care in a way that has never been done before. At each of Mayo Clinic’s three destination medical centers, radically better spaces enable continuous, personalized, seamless care — bringing teams and patients together in environments that transform the patient experience, advance teamwork, improve outcomes and create more cures.
