Mayo Clinic is pleased to announce a gift of $10 million from Michael and Victoria Chambers, to advance patient-centered innovation, accelerate discovery, and improve outcomes for individuals and families facing complex disease.

This generous support targets three strategic areas that are aligned with Mayo Clinic’s core value: The needs of the patient come first. The gift will:

1. Enhance personalized patient care through The Patient in Front of Me, a generative artificial intelligence initiative which synthesizes data and helps develop clinical insights for care teams.
2. Advance research in celiac and related diseases through exploring immune-based markers and mechanisms of immune tolerance, enabling more targeted therapeutics and improving quality of life for patients with celiac disease.
3. Accelerate early detection and interception of hematologic malignancies, expanding research efforts to identify disease sooner and providing more tailored treatment options.

As an undergraduate student at North Dakota State University, Mr. Chambers co-founded Aldevron and now serves as its executive chairman. Mrs. Chambers partnered with Mr. Chambers in building Aldevron, serving in a variety of leadership roles over nearly two decades, including co-founder and chief operating officer. Under their leadership, the company grew from a small university laboratory into a cornerstone of the global genetic medicine industry. Mr. and Mrs. Chambers reside in West Fargo, North Dakota, and Boston, Massachusetts, with their five daughters.
